Tilda The Green Goddess!

Sorry it's Tilda again!! Who can resist her though?? Green is a one of those colours I don't use that often but over at Passion for Promarkers their challenge this week is a colour theme of green. So I thought "Go for it!" and this is what I ended up with.

Congratulations!!

Can you tell that I kind of like Magnolia Stamps?? Here is one of the latest to join the Tilda gang. I don't think there's any of the Magnolia stamps that I don't like. I also think Magnolia stamps are great value for money and they always stamp out really well. I buy most of mine from a wonderful craft shop in the next village to us. It's not a really big shop but it has a quilting department, needlework and knitting department but most of all it's papercraft department is the best, well I would say that wouldn't I?? The staff are lovely but the super talented Katy is soo helpful and since she has been working there they now have a great selection of stamps like Magnolia, Kraftin' Kimmie, Sarah Kay and Mo Manning to name a few. Anyway back to my card, this is for another friend who also had her birthday this week. I have distressed the patterned paper by cutting the paper to the size I wanted, mounted it onto a piece of watercolour paper, distressed the edges using a little distressing tool by Tim Holtz and finished off by inking the edges with the fabby Walnut Stain Distress ink. I think doing it this way gives a lovely finish, try it, you might like it too.

A birthday card for Sue

I was my friend Sue's birthday on the 17th and I realised the day before, yes the day before that I hadn't made her card!!! So it was all systems go to get it done as soon as possible. I finished it on the Sunday and Sue received it on the Monday. I always worry when making cards for fellow crafter's but I was pleased with this one and Sue was over the moon with it, so Happy Birthday Sue and thanks for all your support.

I'm Back!!

Some of you will know from my profile that I was diagnosed with breast cancer in March 2008. I had a mastectomy the same month, followed chemotherapy and radiotherapy. On the 30th of March this year, I had another mastectomy with immediate reconstruction, using tissue expander's. Apart from the fortnightly saline injections into my chest, everything seemed to be going well, untill the left expander ruptured! My consultant wanted to replaced the ruptured expander and the date was set for 13th of July! So I had surgery on Tuesday, Mr Rhodes removed some more tissue so that there was more room for the new expander and he also filled it up aswell. As you will understand I'm feeling rather sore!
One of my friends sent me a text message, setting me a challenge and that was to make just one card today and it had to be for a teenage girl. Hope you like the card Cher!! If you get a spare minute or two, have a look at Cher's blog, where she has some wonderful decoupage sheets and templates.
Here is the card I made.

Parchment Wing Step By Step,

Since I made the christening card using "Flying Tilda" people have been asking me how I made her wings, well I decided to try and do a step by step guide for all off you. It's really easy but the end result looks soooo effective, even if I do say so myself.

So here goes!!

STEP ONE

I've used "Flying Tilda" but you could use any image that has wings. Using a white Stazon ink pad, stamp your image twice onto parchment paper, I used Pergamano Flex.

STEP TWO

Remember to turn your images over, so that you work on the reverse side. With a tea light gently rub the back of the image, this helps your embossing tool to glide over the parchment paper.

STEP THREE

Using an ball tool (I think mine is a 1.5mm), lightly emboss the wings until your happy with how they look. Remember there's no need to emboss all the image, you only need to do the wings.

STEP FOUR

I've marked both sets of wings, A and B. Set A is the top layer and Set B are the bottom set. Cut out the wings, where you have embossed will act as a cutting guide. Leave set B whole but on set A cut some of the wings off, what I did was look which part of the wings looked as though they were underneath and snipped them off.

STEP FIVE

We're almost there!! I stamped and coloured the image as normal, cut round Tilda cutting her wings off, aww poor Tilda!! On set A wings put some double sided tape and on set B a foam pad.

STEP SIX

Stick set A on top of set B. Then attach the wings to Tilda.

There you go!! Tilda has new wings!

What A Day!

Well I've been back to hospital again today and it's been such a long day. Mum and I set off from home at 11.45am and we walked back into the house a 7.15pm!! It takes three buses to get to Bradford Royal Infirmary, so as you will guess we are a bit tired.

However when we got home I opened my post and there was a little something that just made the day so so much better :) Would you like to see????

This little beauty is what I'm making such a fuss about! It's a beautiful card made by and sent by the wonderfully talented Tina Cox. Tina is well know for her awesome parchment work and she is sometimes on Create and Craft, so all I say is look out for her shows.  However if you would like to get hold of any of her parchment patterns they are available from Christine Coleman and from a craft shop in Harrogate called Centagraph. The detail is stunning and I just love the little bird, he is sooo cute.

Card for America!!!

I've made this card for a lovely woman who lives in America. I have some photos of my cards on Facebook and she always leaves me wonderful comments. It was her birthday the other week so I decided to make her a card as way of a little thank you for her comments. I didn't want to make a birthday card, so I hope this is ok for her.

I tried to take a good picture of Tilda so you could see the "Fairy Dust" that Tilda is blowing, I've used a Quickie Glue pen and added some glitter. Sorry my photography skills are not very good.

Hello again!!

I'm so sorry I've not wrote many posts lately, been a little busy and you know when you feel like everything is such an effort, well thats how I've felt this past week, so now I'm getting back into the swing of things!!

This is a card that I've managed to make for my box! Yes thats right my box, so now it holds the grand total of ......two!!! Ha ha ha!!! I've had this Tilda stamp for a little while now, can you tell I kinda like Magnolia stamps?? Got a bit fed up of pinks so I thought I'd have a complete change and had a play with green instead, I think she's turned out fairly good, even if I do say so myself. The whitewas Core'dinations has been put through the Cuttlebug using one of the embossing folders, then sanded down to expose the colour underneath, then distressed the edges with the Tim Holtz distressing tool.

Ok here's what I used:

Cardstock - The Whitewash Collection by Core'dinations.

Stamp - Charleston Tilda by Magnolia.

Border Punch - Martha Stewart.
