How I colour skin and hair using Promarkers.

I have finally given in to requests to do a tutorial on how I colour with Promarkers. I was asked if I would do a video but there was no chance of me doing anything to do with YouTube. So I've done a little step by step for all of you that have asked, I hope you find it helpful but please remember I am by no means a professional, how I colour with Promarkers is my way and how I've learnt myself. Soooo here we go!!

The image I'm using is "Dragonfly Tilda" and for the skin I use Vanilla, Saffron and Pastel Pink.

Using Vanilla colour the whole skin area.

Now using Saffron, add shadow. As you can see from my photo, I've added Saffron around Tilda's face, under her chin and the bottom of her arms.
Little tip if when you use PM's and you find that you go over the edges, try not going right up to the edge and just dot the ink on. Also instead of working towards the inked edge try working away from it.

Onto the Cheeks. I like using Pastel Pink for Tilda's cheeks. They may look a little rosey at the moment but once you do the next step they will look fine.

And here is the final step. All you have to do is go over everything using Vanilla to blend all three colours together, I prefer using small circular movements. See how Tilda's cheeks have been toned down.

So now we'll move onto the next stage, colouring hair.
I was going to change to a different image beacause this one as you can see hasn't a lot of hair showing but decided just to stick with "Dragonfly Tilda" I'm sure we'll manage.

So for Tilda's hair I like to use Sandstone, Cinnamon and Cocoa.

Start by colouring the whole of the hair area by using Sandstone.

Now with the Cinnamon add shadow. here I've added shadow on the tips of her curls, where the hair strands are closer together, along the bottom of her fringe and where the hat is resting on her head, so that there's just a narrow but of Sandstone showing.

I've now added a little bit more shadow using Cocoa. Just dot Cocoa where you think her hair is going to look more dark due to the shadow. I don't think this photo really shows where I've added Cocoa up well enough but I've added it the tips of her curls and where her hat is resting.

Finally go back to Sandstone and blend all three colours together, this is what you should end up with.

So there you have it my first tutorial on Promarkers. Sue I hope you find this helpful and you'd better get the rest of those blooming colours now I've finally made a start on these for you!!
Please leave a comment and if you do use my tutorial please tell people where you got it from. I will be doing another tutorial, this time on how I colour clothes. Thanks for looking x

Bottoms Up!

I've had this stamp for a while now but never actually used it, I bought it because I just loved the expression on her face! Doesn't she look a little minx?

Isn't she just great? I'm sure there's a bit of her in us all. Now I'd better let you all know what I've used to make this card, so here we go!

Stamped Image & Sentiment - Perfect Poison by Kraftin' Kimmie and I coloured her in using my ..... COPICS!!! Now that's three shocks for you! No Magnolia, I've not used Promarkers and it's not pink and blue ha ha ha.
Papers & Chipboard flower border - Jazmyne by BoBunny
Bling from my stash.

I'm entering this one into this weeks challenge over at Sketch Saturday, hope they like it.

So not only have I made this card using jazmyne by BoBunny but I've also made an ATC with some of the leftover little pieces. This is just the second time I've made an ATC but I think it's not to bad.

BIG THANKS TO BOZ!!

Yes here I am with my second post in one day! As I mentioned in my earlier post I've not been feeling to good lately and today I just feel yuk! I've not even been out today and I am soooo pleased I did stay in, cos what Mr Postie brought me today has really really cheered me up :o) DO YOU WANT TO SEE?????
Isn't this a little stunner!! What makes this card all the more special is because who made it for me, would you believe me if I told you that this fab creation was made by a young lady who is 11 YEARS OLD!!! Well it is true, honest I am not lying to you! The attention to detail is stunning and I am sooo pleased that Boz took the time to make little ole me something. I think Boz is going to go far if she keeps on with her crafting and I think her mums talent has definatley rubbed off on her. Boz's mum is my stooopidly talented friend Michelle Cassell aka Meesh, please pop on over to Meeshs blog when you get a spare moment or two, I'm sure you will love her work as much as I do.
So Boz I thank you sooo sooo much for making me such a wonderful card and I will treasure it for many years to come, so when you're rich and famous with your crafting, I'll be able to say "The Boz made me this before she was famous". I had no idea what so ever that Boz was working hard on a card for me, so it was such a wonderful surprise when I seen it this morning and it has really cheered me up on a day when I feel really yuk. THANK YOU BOZ xxxxxx

Lovin' Ink & Fab Friends

I'm sorry I've not been around much lately but yet again I've not been in the best of health. I really should have wrote this post last week but as that ole saying goes "Better late than never". So here we go!!

Last Friday (4th) I spent the day with two wonderful friends Margaret and Janet her daughter. Both ladies have been crafting some time now but just recently ventured into the wonderful world of Promarkers. Janet loves all things Tim Holtz and the things she makes are beyond beautiful. So when we arrange for me to go and show Margaret and Janet, I must admit I was rather nervous, I've never shown anyone how I colour with my Promarkers, well apart from my mum that is. I showed how I coloured skin and hair and told them my funny little ways and different colour combos. I felt like I'd hardly showed them much but they assured me that I had told them loads of helpful tips and were that pleased we are going to have another little lesson but this time colouring clothes. I am soooo pleased they found what I showed them helpful. I had a wonderful time and really looking forward to our next meet up.

As most of you will know I am a total Tilda addict but I do love things that Janet makes, I always say to her "I wish I could do stuff like that" and I always get told "You could!" So imagine how thrilled I was when Janet passed me a black envelope, here's what was inside!

Isn't it wonderful and the pocket with the Special Friend ticket stamp inside, was just so lovely. I must admit the bow when Janet gave me it was tied better than what I've done it, I'm useless tying bows. Please pop over to Janets blog and have a look at the wonderful things she creates, you can find her blog here. Not only did I get this beautiful card but I also got a bag of goodies to use on my cards, will show you all a photo a little later in the post but first I'll tell you why Janet gave me these goodies. Janet and her totally utterly talented friend Michelle aka Midnight Crafter have recently started their own little online business selling lush ribbons, lace, buttons, buckles and charms, they also do their Lovin Ink workshop at The Stampman in Skipton. So Janet and Michelle gave me a selection of their goodies for me to use on my cards. Hand on heart and I promise I am not just saying this cos these are my friends but this stuff is the best I've come across in a long while and so reasonably priced too I can't believe they actually expect me to use these lol, so I better show you my goodies.
Look at that lace and those buttons! I actually have managed to bring myself to use some of these but I can't share the photos just yet. Please check out Lovin Ink  for yourselves, go on treat yourself you know you want to. I highly recommend the goodies.
Take care everyone xx
